With Your Permission

Summer is in full swing. The days are long, the sea is warm, and here in Bermuda, the humidity wraps around everything like a thick blanket. There’s something about this time of year that invites movement and stillness together with a gentle nudge to pause, reflect and maybe do things a little differently.
This month’s Let’s Spend the Year Together calendar theme is all about permission, a word that’s been sitting with me lately. What does it mean to give ourselves permission? To slow down. To show up. To try something new. To let go. If you haven’t had a chance to read this month’s reflection, you can find it here. I hope it offers something meaningful for you.
I’ve come to think of permission as a quiet, powerful gift we offer ourselves. Sometimes it’s choosing to put your phone away during dinner with family or friends so you can be fully present. Other times it’s signing up for a class that’s just for you, or taking a walk not because you have to but because it brings you joy. These choices, small as they may seem, are acts of self-trust and intention.
Our next 3C Gathering will be held on Wednesday, July 16 at 5:30pm (Bermuda) / 4:30pm EDT. We’ll be exploring the many layers of permission when it feels life-giving, when it challenges us and how it can help us reconnect with ourselves and others. I’d love to hear what are you giving yourself permission to do this summer.
Here’s a song that I think pairs well with the theme of permission. Have a listen.
Send me an email, your thoughts are always welcome.
Thank you for being here. I’m  glad we’re connected.
With gratitude, Aderonke
