With Love

Let’s start with love.
Love is this month’s theme in the Let’s Spend the Year Together calendar. It was also the theme in January 2024 because it felt like the right way to begin a year. It still feels right now. Placing it here, near year’s end, is a reminder that it is never too late to begin with love, wherever we are.
Start with self-love. Do you practice it regularly? Are you kind, gentle and honest with yourself? Self-love shows up as compassion, forgiveness, authenticity, playfulness, discipline, amongst others. When we root ourselves in these ways of being, we have more to give.
From there, love extends outward. It reaches family and friends, coworkers and neighbors and even those we disagree with or will never meet. Let love guide how we speak, decide and act. Let it be present in every conversation and at every opportunity. It is a steady practice we can choose every day.
