Moving Forward, One Step At A Time

I have a friend with a brilliant business idea. The challenge hasn’t been the idea, it’s in the execution. She relies on others to help her find what she needs to get started, and along the way, she’s faced setbacks that cost her time and, just as importantly, has shaken her trust.
What do you do in moments like this? As I listened, I reminded her that it’s okay to feel the sting of disappointment. Sometimes tears are the right first step, even a day or two to sit with the weight of what went wrong. But after that, the work is to keep going.
Momentum isn’t built on giant leaps. It grows through small, steady actions: another conversation, another attempt, another connection. Each step keeps the vision alive and creates space for the right person to appear at the right time with the right solution.
Setbacks will come. What matters is staying connected to what you’ve begun and taking the next step forward, even when trust has been shaken.
This week, consider:
Where are you being asked to keep going, even after a setback?
What small step can you take to keep momentum alive?
What does success look like in a week, a month, a year?
Every step, no matter how small, keeps possibility in motion.
I’d love to hear from you. Send me an email and share a time when you kept going and you got to experience success.
Thank you for being here. I’m glad we’re connected.
With gratitude, Aderonke
