On a memorable Friday, November 3, 2023, I had the privilege of unveiling the cover of my 2024 interactive printed wall calendar. This was a moment filled with excitement and a touch of anxiety. I couldn't help but wonder how it would be received. Would there be interest from others, and would they share the same love for the cover image as I do?
With bated breath, I sent out that early morning email and shared the news on social media. As I prepared for my day, I couldn't resist the urge to periodically check for friends' reactions. The responses I received was beyond my expectations—overflowing with encouragement and support. Many wonderful people not only showed interest but also went the extra mile, purchasing more than one calendar!
This recent activity marked just one of the efforts I've made to generate awareness and interest in my calendar. I have a series of postings and email communications planned in the coming weeks through to the year's end. I am taking this moment to bask in the joy of my first calendar launch, with the hope that the nerves will be calmer when I unveil the 2025 calendar next year this time.
I'm grateful that I pushed past my fears, and I owe a debt of gratitude to two dear friends who, in September, gave me the nudge I needed to press "send" on that critical email when I began creating awareness for the calendar. Fortunately, my worst fears did not materialize. In fact, what transpired was beyond my wildest dreams—an outpouring of heartwarming responses to my message.
I firmly believe you will meet the people who will help you, once you start on the journey.
And this journey has been far from a solitary endeavor. The Thompsons, whom I have yet to meet in person, have been my steadfast companions. They generously shared their time, provided encouragement, and dedicated hours to sifting through images, all the while soothing my anxious nerves. Dearest Thompsons, you have my heartfelt appreciation for your collaborative spirit and unwavering support.
I extend my deepest gratitude to the Oversubscribed ladies, Sharon and Karen. Our 6am (Bermuda time) Saturday morning meetings, were cherished moments where we guided, supported, encourage each other until it was time for me to head out to play pickleball.
My heartfelt appreciation to the team at SJD World who took my images and created a beautiful calendar. Their talent, time and dedication are never taken for granted. Thank you.
Lastly, to those who have contributed to watering my dream by: giving outstanding, on-going business advice; listening to my ramblings; fielding emails; giving media coaching (again at 6am Bermuda time) and encouraging me; purchasing a calendar or several, thank you. To all those who will soon embrace this dream, I express my heartfelt gratitude in advance.
I stand before each of you in profound appreciation, with humility and a heart brimming with gratitude.
