Welcome, everyone! My podcast journey started at the bottom of Mount Everest.
I'm thrilled to finally launch ABWilson's Heart of the Matter, a podcast dedicated to asking overwhelmingly positive questions and uncovering the good in ourselves, our communities, and the world around us.
This journey actually began over a decade ago in a truly awe-inspiring place: Kathmandu, Nepal. Attending the Appreciative Inquiry World Conference, I was surrounded by 400 people from 40 countries, all passionate about making a positive difference.
The stories I heard ignited a spark in me. People were using Appreciative Inquiry to create meaningful change, boosting lives, organizations, and even productivity. Filled with inspiration, I knew I had to use this approach when I returned home to Bermuda.
Back then, podcasts weren't quite a thing yet, so I envisioned a radio program where I could ask insightful questions and learn from the amazing people around me. Luckily, I had the perfect team to support this dream. My communications degree equipped me with the skills, my brother Bim Bademosi, a talented audio engineer and music teacher, provided the technical expertise, and the wonderful Ron Lightbourne, a true renaissance man, agreed to be the host.
We found incredible people from all walks of life in Bermuda to interview, secured an amazing sponsor, and then landed a radio slot! While not all those early recordings have survived the test of time, one interview remains particularly special - the one featuring Ron, Bim, and myself - filled with the joy and energy of our adventure.
Fast forward to 2023, the launch of my consulting company, ABWilson Consulting, reignited my passion for Appreciative Inquiry. With technology readily available, I knew it was time to revisit that radio program idea. Though sadly, Ron is no longer with us, his spirit of appreciation lives on.
So, here I am, ready to pick up the mic and embark on this journey myself. I've created a fresh set of questions, found new music and partnered with a new audio engineer to bring these conversations to life.
Most importantly, I've connected with amazing guests from all over the world and I can't wait share their stories with you.
A huge thank you to everyone who has already agreed to be interviewed, and a warm welcome to those who will join us in the future. Let's delve into the inspiring core of life's experiences, together.
